Information about the documents that are required from a tourist:
Foreign guests should enter and leave the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan through checkpoints on the state border using passport (or documents that are replacing them) with the Kazakhstan visa if it is required.
Dated March 2020, citizens of 73 countries could enter Kazakhstan without a visa. However, according to the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 220 dated April 17, 2020, the visa-free regime for the countries specified in paragraph 17 of the Government Resolution dated January 21, 2012 No. 148 was suspended until November 1, 2020.
Who doesn’t need a visa?
Visa-free entry with the right to stay in the country up to 30 days is granted to citizens of the following countries:
Azerbaijan, Argentina, Brazil, Serbia, Uzbekistan, Ecuador.
The list of countries with visa-free entry to Kazakhstan up to 30 days also included the following countries (suspended until November 1, 2020):

Citizens of the above countries can enter the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan with all types of valid passports, with the right to stay in the country up to 30 days.
Visa-free entry with a right to stay in the country up to 90 days is granted to citizens of the following countries:
- Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine.
Hong Kong SAR citizens can enter Kazakhstan without a visa with the right to stay in the country up to 14 days.
Until December 31, 2020, a 72-hour visa-free regime for entry, stay and departure from the Republic of Kazakhstan was introduced for citizens of the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of India, who transit through the international airports of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Aktau, Shymkent, Karaganda and Taraz to a third country or returning from a third country. As of March 30, 2020, this regime was suspended until November 1, 2020.
