The great Ukrainian Kobza player Taras Shevchenko left an indelible mark in the history of Mangystau region. As an ethnographer, he took part in an expedition to Mangystau. During this tour you can repeat the route of Great Kobzar expedition.
The total length of the route is 511 km. Asphalt road - 351km, grader-136 km and country road 24 km.
Seasonality - from April to October.
Day 1.Morning departure from Aktau. The tour starts with a visit of the historic coastal town of Fort-Shevchenko, where is located the museum dedicated to the life and work of Taras Shevchenko during his Mangyshlak exile. Along the way of the tour you will see Hanga-Baba and DolyApaancient necropolises, which were depicted byTaras Shevchenko in his drawings, you will also visit the variety of forms of Memorial architecture and hear the legends and tales about them. You will also visit the chalk Canyon Kumacapy, where you can enjoy a walk through it.
Day2. After the field breakfast, you will depart for the tour, where after a few kilometers on the steppe road you will see the mountainous part of Mangystau. Sherkalamountain is a unique natural site, which is from one side looking like a giant yurt. Walking tour around the mountain. Akmysh tract with small trees and cool stream attracts to relax in its refreshing shade after a day full of impressions.
And the tour will finish in the Ayrakty-ShomanayValley, in which center are towering mountain outliers as the majestic castles of the middle ages, and after the each turn you can find new rocky massifs. Grandiosity, the magnitude and unique color of these mountains impressed Ukrainian poet and artist Taras Shevchenko and inspired him to new creations.
Evening return to Aktau.
