Geographically, a small sea cove is formed from the convergent mouths of the Tulkily canyon and the large sai Uzynkudyk. At the beginning of the XX century, there was a fishing company named Tulkily, which in Kazakh means "fox’s place". On the south side of the bay on a rocky ledge are the remains of a small fortress wall of the medieval era. The Blue Bay is located on the south-western coast of the Mangyshlak Peninsula, washed by the waters of the Caspian Sea. 15 kilometers to the south of the Blue Bay, along the coast, is Sagyndyk Cape. There is a small village of Kyzyluzen 33 kilometers to the north along the coast.
