  • BERLIN. KAZINFORM. As part of the international tourist exhibition ITB-2018 held in Berlin, the scientific and practical conference "Kazakhstan is a country of the Great Steppe: the potential of the Kazakh-German cooperation in the field of tourism" was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Federal Republic of Germany, the correspondent of Kazinform Inernational News Agency reports.

    The event was attended by business and expert communities of Kazakhstan and Germany, diplomats and journalists.

    In his welcoming address, Kazakhstan's ambassador to Germany Bolat Nusupov spoke about the current priorities of "economic diplomacy", including the promotion of the tourist potential of our country.

    The Kazakh diplomat urged the participants of the meeting to more active interaction in the sphere of tourism between the two countries, "starting from the modernization of the hotel business and the organization of tourist programs, ending with the professional training of Kazakhstan personnel."

    B.Nusupov also spoke about the recent "Five Social Initiatives of the President", which, in his opinion, "are called upon to improve the quality of life in the country, and contribute to the growth of Kazakhstan's tourist attraction in the world arena".

    On behalf of the Federal Government of Germany, the opening of the conference was made by the Director of the Department for Tourism Development of the German Ministry of Economy and Energy Alexander Stedtfeld, who noted the key role of Kazakhstan in the tourist direction along the Great Silk Road as the "center of intersection of cultures and civilizations".

    "It is necessary to make efforts to create the infrastructure and conditions for more effective implementation of this role and the growing recognition of Kazakhstan in the global tourism world," - A. Stedtfeld believes.

    In his opinion, Kazakhstan has all the conditions - a variety of flora and fauna, the existence of natural reserves and unique archaeological sites, the possibility of thematic tourism and much more.

    As the speaker from the Kazakh side, the deputy head of "Kazakhtourism" Kairat Sadvakasov spoke about the main tasks and objectives of the Concept of the development of the tourist industry in the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2023.

    Particular attention was paid to the prospects of development of resort areas in Kazakhstan, new tourist routes within the country, as well as events on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Astana.

    At the end of the conference, the German side expressed its readiness for broad cooperation in the tourist sphere with our country and invited the Kazakh partners to discuss the available opportunities.
